About My Clients
My passion is supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, body image, and self-esteem. I provide affirming, culturally responsive care to Black women, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, and clients exploring diverse relationship dynamics and belief systems.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a Black woman therapist, I am passionate about creating a culturally responsive, affirming, and empowering space for Black women and individuals within the BIPOC community. I understand how culture, identity, family dynamics, and systemic experiences can shape our emotional well-being and relationships. I use an integrated approach drawing from psychodynamic, CBT, trauma-informed, systemic, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) perspectives. My style is both direct, gentle, and I offer honest, thoughtful feedback while honoring your experiences and meeting you with compassion. Together, we will create a treatment plan aligned with your goals and values, while I support and gently challenge you toward greater self-awareness, meaningful growth, and lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy begins with feeling safe, seen, and understood. I strive to create a welcoming, affirming, and judgment-free space where clients can show up authentically and feel supported throughout their therapeutic journey. I am committed to creating an environment where marginalized communities feel respected, valued, and empowered to explore their experiences without fear of judgment or having to minimize who they are. My goal is to build a genuine therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, compassion, and collaboration, where you feel comfortable being vulnerable, exploring difficult experiences, and working toward meaningful growth and change.
