About My Clients

I work with young adults and men who feel stuck, emotionally shut down, overwhelmed, or exhausted from carrying too much alone for too long. My clients usually want more than endless talking or surface level coping skills. They want clarity, practical change, emotional grounding, and a better understanding of themselves. They tend to respond well to my direct, grounded, and nonjudgmental approach, especially those who are skeptical of therapy or who have difficulty opening up to others.

My Background and Approach

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience in crisis response, emergency rooms, psychiatric settings, juvenile justice, and private practice. My career started in a juvenile correctional facility, where I realized I was more interested in helping people understand themselves and change than simply enforcing rules. That experience shaped the therapist I became: calm under pressure, practical, direct, and focused on real world results. My approach is active and individualized. I use evidence based methods including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and solution focused therapy, while tailoring treatment to the individual rather than forcing people into a rigid model. I believe therapy works best when people feel understood without being coddled, challenged without being shamed, and supported without being treated like they are fragile. My focus is helping clients create meaningful change both inside and outside the therapy office.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe therapy should help people become more honest with themselves, more emotionally grounded, and more capable of handling reality without collapsing into shame, avoidance, or self hatred. Insight matters, but insight without action often changes very little. Real growth usually comes from learning how to tolerate difficult truths while still moving forward. Personally, I understand what it feels like to struggle with identity and masculinity. Joining the football team in high school became a major turning point for me because it taught me the difference between posturing and genuinely being comfortable in myself. That experience still shapes how I connect with clients today, especially young men who feel disconnected, guarded, or unsure of who they are becoming. I believe therapy should help people build clarity, emotional awareness, confidence, and practical tools so they can create a life that genuinely feels like their own.
