About My Clients
Denise’s practice specialties include treating adults and adolescents struggling with depression, stress and anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, relationship concerns, and attachment issues. She also provides couples counseling, family therapy, and parenting support.
My Background and Approach
Denise earned her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and a Graduate Certificate in Adult Psychoanalysis from the Wisconsin Psychoanalytic Institute (WPI), Milwaukee, WI. As a psychotherapist and certified psychoanalyst, Denise employs a psychodynamic approach that meets each client at their own personal “starting line.” She then applies tailored treatment methods to help clients identify specific patterns of behavior and develop strategies for overcoming them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Compassion and empathy characterize her approach to client treatment. Her practice has been molded by global experience. In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, Denise worked with NYC first responders and airline personnel and coordinated with government officials in Mongolia to place institutionalized/orphaned children with loving families. Here at home, she has worked with local elementary and high schools as a suicide prevention consultant.
