About My Clients
I specialize in working with immigrants, students, activists, artists, people of color, and the queer & trans-Latinx community. As an immigrant myself, I deeply understand the unique challenges of navigating life between cultures—the grief of what was left behind, the stress of constant adaptation, and the weight of carrying generational trauma while building a new life.
My Background and Approach
I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues affecting individuals, couples, and families. My approach integrates body-based trauma work—including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing—with relational and systemic therapy to address not just your symptoms, but the patterns and wounds beneath them. Having dedicated over 10 years to working with diverse communities, I understand that healing happens in context. Your experience is shaped by culture, race, class, immigration status, gender identity, and spirituality—and effective therapy must honor that complexity. Whether you're navigating generational trauma, relationship struggles, or the weight of living between worlds, I offer direct, culturally-grounded support to help you move from surviving to thriving.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an immigrant and trauma therapist, I've witnessed how unprocessed trauma moves through families like an invisible inheritance. The hypervigilance that kept your parents alive in their country of origin becomes the anxiety you can't explain. The silence about violence becomes the inability to set boundaries. The survival mechanisms that once protected become the patterns that now harm. When you heal your trauma, you do more than alleviate your own suffering—you interrupt intergenerational transmission. You become the one who breaks the cycle. Your ability to regulate your nervous system fosters your children's secure attachment. Your healing creates the possibility for your family's liberation, not just your own.
