About My Clients
Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, sexuality issues, or just overwhelmed with life in general, talking through it is incredibly helpful. It is my belief that as people become more aware and accepting of themselves, they are more capable of finding a sense of peace and contentment in their lives. As your therapist, I will work with you to create an authentic and genuine client-counselor relationship in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
My Background and Approach
I am an Licensed Associate Professional counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and I practice animal-assisted therapy. My 5 year old Vizsla, Beckett, loves to connect with clients in session. He is very affectionate and will probably try to sit on your lap if you are comfortable with that! Having an animal in session provides an extra layer of comfort for my clients. Research shows having a dog in session can lower clients' blood pressure, decrease anxiety and depression symptoms, and more!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe increasing self-awareness can start you on a path to healing. I first attended therapy as a young 20 something due to anxiety and questioning my sexuality. Through therapy I was taught coping skills to help deal with the anxiety and panic attacks I was having and I was able to talk through my sexuality issues. Today, I am a proud member of the LGBTQ community and haven't had a panic attack in years. I know first hand how beneficial therapy can be if you are ready to do the work.
