About My Clients
My clinical style has been described as gentle and direct, and while I have confidence in my knowledge about therapy, I treat every client as an individual and learn from every person who works with me. My clients would say they trust my intuition, I pay close attention, tell them the truth and empower them with ongoing effective strategies for healing.
My Background and Approach
About 12 years ago, I began my career working at Bellevue Hospital's Outpatient Psych Department in NYC and later worked at a domestic violence shelter, supporting individuals navigating trauma, grief, and major life transitions. I then began my private practice work, and have specialized in Grief, Anxiety, Disordered Eating and Body Dysmorphia. Grief work is at the center of my practice. I’m especially interested in the many ways grief shows up in our lives; not just through loss, but in transitions, relationships, and the parts of our stories that are hard to hold alone.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
value a world where all people, and the natural world around us, are treated with dignity and respect. The current political climate can bring a great deal of stress, not only in what we’re aware of, but in how it impacts our daily lives and sense of safety. It can be incredibly difficult to hold awareness of what’s happening in the world while also staying present and engaged in everyday responsibilities. I understand how this kind of stress can affect focus, energy, and our ability to fully connect with daily life. I also love animals and am a huge dog person. They live their lives in the present moment, without judgement. What a wonderful way to live! I believe that even in the midst of difficult experiences, we have the capacity to grow in meaningful ways. There can be a sense of awe in recognizing how much we are able to hold, and in finding connection within ourselves and with the natural world around us.
