About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples. I have experience working with people with substance use disorder, codependency, LGBTQ+, autism spectrum disorder, adhd, anxiety, shame, social anxiety, depression, and grief.
My Background and Approach
I am an LMHCA, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I am currently using psychodynamic, attachment, and family systems theories to guide my therapeutic approach. I continue learning from (and am supervised by) an amazing psychodynamic therapist who has changed people's lives for the better by helping them see the world through a more empathetic lens and by helping them grow out of their childhood wounding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Maya Angelou famously said, 'When you know better, you do better.' However, knowing ourselves is difficult because the ego is an expert at deploying defense mechanisms—like rationalization or projection—to shield us from discomfort. A skilled therapist acts as an objective observer, helping you navigate your family history and life patterns. By dismantling these subconscious shields, you gain the awareness needed to move through the world with intention rather than reactivity.
