About My Clients
If you are having a difficult time with anxiety, stress, and coping I would love the opportunity to equip you with tools you can utilize to remediate the symptoms associated with those issues. If you have a traumatic background, experienced childhood abuse and are currently struggling in adulthood with self-issues, such as self-esteem, self-image, and self-loathing, I would like to help you. Furthermore, if you are experiencing a life transition, having relationship issues, I can help.
My Background and Approach
My aim is to provide you a space that is nonjudgmental, accepting, empathic and conducive to therapeutic work. I meet you where you are and hold space for you to make progress - at your pace. My ultimate desire is to assist you in accomplishing your therapeutic goals and in ultimately experiencing improved overall mental wellness. My approach to working with you will depend on the factors involved and the uniqueness of your experience regarding the issue. My intervention will be specific to meeting your individual needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the empirically based approach that I hold to as I truly believe in the concept of thoughts influencing our moods and ultimately our actions/behaviors. Techniques from the Mindfulness-based and Person-Centered perspectives are often utilized as well. And, at the client’s request, I will be happy to provide Christian-based counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Christian and adhere to Christian values. However, even though I am a Christian therapist, I am sensitive to the religious beliefs of others and provide scientifically/empirically based therapeutic approaches without imposing my spiritual beliefs on clients.
