About My Clients
You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from trying to manage life on your own. Many clients I work with are navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, or major life transitions. I support children, teens, adults, and veterans who often feel misunderstood or unsupported. Whether working through recovery, stabilizing mental health, or reconnecting with yourself, I offer a safe, respectful, nonjudgmental space. I also understand Medicaid barriers and aim to provide accessible care.
My Background and Approach
I am a Resident in Counseling in Virginia with over 15 years of experience providing mental health counseling, addiction treatment, and trauma-informed care in community-based settings. My experience includes working in addiction recovery centers, intensive in-home services, residential programs, school counseling, and special education. I’ve supported individuals across the lifespan, from children with developmental and behavioral needs to adults and veterans managing PTSD, bipolar disorder, and substance use. My approach is client-centered, structured, and practical. I use evidence-based therapies such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-based and trauma-focused care. We will focus not only on understanding your experiences, but also on building real coping skills, emotional regulation, and stability in your daily life. I offer both in-person and online (telehealth) therapy with flexible scheduling in VA.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be honest about what you’re going through without fear of being misunderstood. I take a down-to-earth, supportive, and direct approach. I will meet you where you are, go at your pace, and work with you to create realistic goals that fit your life. I’m especially passionate about helping individuals who feel overlooked; those navigating addiction, trauma, or barriers to care, including clients using Medicaid who deserve consistent, quality support, and advocacy to implement social justice. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but with the right support, change is possible. The Time Is Now!
