About My Clients
My client is you. Whatever age, background, or phase of life, we will have and find common ground. Whether it’s your career, family, relationships, decision-making processes, or friends that have you experiencing stress or difficulty, I will help you identify your feelings and hone in on your strengths to cope. With an eye toward change and finding peace. I work with emerging and young adults through retirement age.
My Background and Approach
My personal odyssey to becoming a therapist took me through careers in law, academia, non-profits, government, and hospital work. I’ve been married and divorced. I lost a parent in my 20s. I’ve moved all around the country for my careers. . Adult life is complex, full of so many responsibilities and accompanying stressors. We are all constantly presented with unexpected challenges: difficulties balancing work and home, communicating with others, tensions between commitments to relationships and to personal goals and achievements. These complex feelings can lead to anxiety, depression, and feeling overwhelmed. I am psychodynamic and insight focused, meaning we will explore your experience growing up in your family and how you learned or inherited certain tendencies to cope with life’s stresses. Together we will look at your problem solving skills; what used to work but doesn’t work anymore and how you can hone your personal skill set for future success and contentment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I operate from a growth mindset, which means that you can change and grow, and nothing is fixed in terms of what you can do with your thought process and your feelings and how you can change your circumstances.
