About My Clients
If you find yourself struggling to share things with those around you or have little support, I am here for you. If your anxiety or depression are creating daily impacts for you, let's create a plan to change and reframe those thoughts using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I love working with clients on issues with sexuality and creating a healthier foundation for a marriage and partnership. I enjoy seeing growth from the addiction population and help them establish a healthy recovery.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with adults who struggle with alcoholism or addiction, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have provided both individual and group therapy to those clients, as well as individuals coping with depression and anxiety. I also have experience working with physicians and their clients who are taking a maintenance medication such as Suboxone, Naltrexone, and Methadone. I have also provided couples and family counseling. I am a client-centered therapist who utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach with clients, as well as motivational interviewing techniques. I am a sex positive therapist who has completed extensive coursework in sexual health. I am excited to work with couples and individuals who identify any issues regarding sexuality, sexual health, and/or sexual functioning. I am LGBTQ+ and kink friendly.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the ability for people to heal themselves. My goal is to empower my clients to begin their healing process with some guidance. I value empathy and openness and show that through my work with clients. I don't believe in good or bad, positive or negative. Rather I believe that as human we are in a constant state of transition that can impact in both helpful and harmful ways. I am a sex and body positive therapist. During my own therapy, I learned how to cope and deal with my transitions. I also know how it feels to be on the other side of this process and how frightening it can be. I want to help ease those fears and guide my clients through their transitions with warmth and compassion. I am staunch advocate for mental health as well as addiction research. I believe all people can benefit from therapy at some point in their lifetime.
