About My Clients
This practice supports individuals navigating life’s most complex threshold moments. This includes creative professionals facing burnout, 'helpers' who have reached their capacity, and those managing the intersection of chronic illness and identity. There is a specific focus on the unique trauma of unexpected DNA discoveries (NPE) and the shifts in selfhood that often emerge during midlife. This work is for those seeking a relational, integrative space to process deep transitions and create more
My Background and Approach
Clinical training at an outpatient trauma practice provided a foundation in trauma-informed individual and group therapy, further grounded by training in EMDR and TF-CBT. This clinical experience is integrated with a focus on narrative therapy and experiential, expressive arts. Rather than prioritizing symptom reduction alone, this approach supports the clinical shift toward greater intentionality and self-compassion. A background as a musician and performer, followed by a career as a business executive in the music industry, offers a unique perspective on high-pressure environments. This lived experience informs a deep understanding of burnout and the complex identity shifts that occur within high-stakes professional fields. By blending evidence-based trauma processing with a relational, integrative framework, this practice provides a steady foundation for navigating midlife transitions and threshold moments.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The foundation of this work is the belief that individuals possess an inherent capacity for change when provided with a steady environment. Rather than viewing struggles through a lens of pathology, this framework acknowledges that many difficulties are natural responses to life events, trauma, or systemic pressures. There is a focus on the transition points in life, those seasons where a previous sense of self no longer fits and the next chapter is still taking shape. Whether addressing the identity disruptions of a DNA discovery or the realities of chronic illness, the work centers on the dignity and agency of the person. By integrating evidence-based trauma tools with narrative and expressive arts, the goal is to move beyond a sense of constriction toward a more purposeful way of being. This process is about reclaiming one's voice and finding a way to live with greater ease and intentionality.
