About My Clients
I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, supporting clients through a wide range of life challenges. I have helped individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, trauma, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, work and career issues, family boundary challenges, and codependency. My background also includes substance abuse counseling, which informs my understanding of how mental health and coping patterns intersect.
My Background and Approach
As an African American male therapist, I lead with understanding, care, and respect for each client’s lived experience. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in discovering and understanding your underlying feelings, emotions, goals, beliefs, and choices. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore what matters most to you. I respect each person’s individuality and cultural background, and I work to ensure that the choices you make align with your own values and goals, not anyone else’s expectations. My ultimate goal is to help you build a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and true to who you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I enjoy helping individuals overcome restrictive thoughts and behaviors to become thriving members of their community. My approach blends evidence-based interventions with a person-centered, culturally responsive framework. I work with adolescents and adults to improve mental health, manage stress, strengthen relationships, and develop coping skills for meaningful, lasting change.
