I work with you to build a plan that will help identify specifically how you want the rest of your life to go.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Brentwood, TN
I integrate techniques from Mindfulness into my practice which focuses on the present moment. Breathing retraining, meditation, and yoga are a few ways of making the mind body connection and focusing on the things within your control.
I believe in a person centered approach that allows my clients to express themselves in a judgment free space. I believe people know themselves the best and sometimes just need someone to walk alongside them as they explore how they want their life to look.
I believe most of our issues come from faulty thinking. I use CBT with my clients to focus on the thoughts that lead to feelings that ultimately lead to behaviors. If you can start with the thought and challenge it that is a huge first step in seeing your life from a different perspective.
I especially like working with clients who are having a difficult time making a transition in their life. This could be a relationship that’s not working out, someone struggling with panic attacks who does not have a close relationship to their thoughts, or someone who is having trouble seeing what the point of continuing living is.
Life is full of uncertainties and things beyond our control. I want to work with you to help empower you as you navigate life’s obstacles. I believe that people know themselves best and for that reason I take a collaborative approach.
I believe we are all doing our best, but sometimes we can feel stuck, whether it’s in our relationships, jobs, or general way of thinking. I want to empower you to gain insight into your life and to take action to discover your true potential to thrive.
We are encouraged at an early age to "Be a man" or "Man up", in other words to suppress emotions because they aren't "manly" to have or express. Often this leads to frustration and anger, which is seen as a safe emotion for men to express. I believe in looking at those emotions and becoming okay with experiencing and expressing them in a healthy way.
