My goal is to start with where you are currently at in your life and then explore what you would like to work on in our time together. Whatever the issue is, we will collaborate on moving you in the direction you want to at your own pace. I am passionate about helping people discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve their personal goals to live the life they want to.
My Background and Approach
I utilize an eclectic approach of treatment modalities including solution focused, strength based, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and supportive therapy. People often find therapy helpful because it’s a different type of relationship which provides non-judgmental support in an emotionally safe environment. It’s talking to a neutral person whose role is to assist by being your personal guide to help you make changes that lead to your best life. My approach is warm, empathetic, compassionate, thoughtful, and non-judgmental. I have worked as a therapist for over 20 years in a variety of treatment settings. My therapeutic approach is as a guide to help others make the changes and improvements their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all created equal and bring value to the world. We all have our own challenges in life, but also have our own unique experiences and set of gifts and talents as individuals that can help in overcoming them. I am a strong believer in self-determination of the person as well as therapy being a safe environment that is judgement free. A large part of effective therapy is based on the therapeutic rapport between client and therapist. My goal is to establish that rapport with you to help you where you are at in life and get you to where you want to go. If for any reason we are not a good fit to work together I will be more than happy to refer you to other therapists to help get you to where you want to be.
