As a clinical art therapist, I integrate art making into every therapy modality I provide because it helps children to express feelings they may not have words for and create a concrete record of the therapy process and growth that they can see at the end of treatment.

My passion is supporting parents who have children ages 1-10 with disruptive behaviors that are not responding to traditional parenting. Sometimes parents just need special skills to bring peace and warmth back to their homes. I also provide Trauma-Focused CBT for children who have experienced a life stressor like a natural disaster, car accident, abuse, grief from loss of a family member, recent parent separation/divorce among other stressors. Healing is possible!

Children who are adopted out of traumatic situations often have behavioral issues arising from the past trauma. PCIT was researched and developed out of UC Davis Children's Hospital with a focus on children who have trauma, foster care, and adoption histories. Hope is available. With PCIT, together we can work to transform your child's behaviors and bring peace and warmth back to your family interactions again!

PCIT was developed through UC Davis Children’s Hospital and has been shown by 40 years of research and 100’s of studies to be the gold standard for treating child disruptive behaviors and can be used with children ages 1-10. A recent study has even shown PCIT to be more effective for disruptive behavior than stimulant medication. PCIT can also improve school behaviors, be used with siblings, and completed in as little as 14 session. And I can tell you how it worked wonders for my family.

Fostered and adopted children can bring the greatest joy to our lives. PCIT incorporates principles of play therapy that are taught to parents so they can provide daily play intervention and become their child's own therapeutic specialist.
