About My Clients

I've been working in the field for about 20 years, ranging from working with behavioral support in residential settings, family reunification programs, substance use and co-occurring disorders, DV survivor programs, crisis intervention for National Suicide Hotline, working with gender variant individuals across the life-span, teens and young adults, adults with chronic mental illness, and speaking at conferences and universities regarding best practices for working with LGBTQIA+ youth.

My Background and Approach

I see therapy as a partnership and a safe, affirming space to collaborate on goals, kick around ideas, ponder weird thoughts, dive deeper into behaviors, habits, stressors, and explore new areas of yourself. I love working with adolescent and young adults who are exploring new freedoms, relationships, personality development, and how to try to get through that stage of life with some kind of grace and less cringe. I also really enjoy working with adults across the life span to help them create a life that they thrive in and is aligned with their values.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm a pansexual cis-gender female with a trans-masculine partner. I've been heavily involved in social justice reform regarding mental health transformation, affordable housing, harm reduction and prevention strategies, women's health, and LGBTQIA+ rights. I love being a social worker because it keeps me involved in helping create better communities for people to thrive in. I get to learn all the time from insightful, innovative, and creative people and am able to apply these new ideas to how I work with clients and how I engage in my volunteer work.
