About My Clients
Looking for a therapist can be a difficult thing to do whether it's at 3 am and you can't sleep or 7 pm when you feel like the weight of the world is crushing your shoulders. You want to find someone that you feel is able to understand your struggles, hurts, pain, etc. someone that can give you some hope, actively listen to what's going on with you, and help. My ideal client is someone that is willing to work with a dedicated and hard-working intern and also willing to work on themselves.
My Background and Approach
I have spent the last four years as a student enrolled in Grand Canyon University's Master's Degree Program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In these four years, I have studied various counseling theories and interventions from family therapy theories such as Gottman and Bowen theory to individual focused counseling theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more. My approach with my clients is aimed at creating a laid-back and easy environment where you feel comfortable and relaxed to where we can not only get into some deep therapeutic work, but also share and enjoy some laughs together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Ultimately, I believe that everyone simply wants to be heard, and to feel like there is someone that is willing and able to listen to them, to their life story, and to help guide them through their life problems without judgement. You are the expert on yourself, I am simply here to actively listen and help you heal, cope and find a way to overcome the anxieties, depressions, stress, traumas, and whatever else life throws at you. It does need to be said that I personally hold a Christian faith and belief and am an active member in my faith, however, when working with clients, I hold no personal agenda or motives to secretly attempt to proselytize you or to use my personal beliefs as a means to direct you in a way that does not agree with your personal beliefs and worldview.
