About My Clients

We might work well together if you are seeking therapy to: Explore sexuality, gender identity, and gender expression. Experience more intimacy and connection with others. Cultivate hope, motivation, creativity, and playfulness. Learn how to set boundaries in a way that makes sense for you. Feel less overwhelmed without feeling numb. Heal from trauma so you can live your life. Make time for yourself without feeling guilty. Experience feelings of worthiness in contrast to feeling “not good enough"

My Background and Approach

I aim to provide therapy that is anti-racist, accessible, queer and gender affirming, sex and body positive, kink aware, trauma informed, and accepting of all relationship styles. I believe that when we acknowledge a person’s full humanity and the importance of our connection to each other, we strengthen and enrich our community as a whole. Depending on client needs and preferences, I draw upon various practices including mindfulness, attachment-based approaches, liberation psychology, music therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). That means that I will be real with you, acknowledge systemic issues and power dynamics, and can offer practical skills training to help you survive crises, connect with others while attending to your own needs, change or decrease the intensity of painful emotions, and be more present in your life. Since healing comes in many forms, we can incorporate music and other forms of expression that bring you harmony and balance.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My professional and personal lives are built on values of integrity, compassion, and social justice. I recognize the mental health system and the social science community have caused irreparable harm by pathologizing, dehumanizing, and invisiblizing BIPOC communities, people with disabilities, transgender and gender-expansive folx, and erotically marginalized people. I firmly believe that change is imperative to not only honor and respect the sanctity of life, but to embrace and celebrate it. As a white, visibly able-bodied, queer, middle class, nonbinary therapist, I have a responsibility to educate myself, engage in self-reflection, and hold myself accountable as to not burden those who already carry enough. In addition to personal work, I am committed to decolonizing mental health and mitigating power imbalances at the systems level. This is a lifelong journey but promises much in the way of my own personal growth and providing culturally humble, compassionate care.
