About My Clients
I work primarily with adults but also see older teen girls. Are you stuck in unhealthy relational patterns? Are you feeling disconnected in your marriage or experiencing infidelity? Are you a stressed out parent or maybe you just need a safe place to process life. Sometimes we need a neutral, safe space to work through what our heart and mind can't on its own. My Background and Approach
I graduated from the University of Central Florida and started out in community mental health before I began counseling at a large church followed by my current private practice. My clients would say that I’m warm but not afraid to challenge, tender but direct. While I have a Christian practice, I meet people where they are and include faith at your comfort level and desire. I believe we are wounded through relationship and healed by it as well. Therefore, I believe our therapeutic relationship is central to our time together. We will explore the past as it relates to the present and most likely laugh a little along the way. With couples, I pull from my training in The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Seeking therapy is a brave step! I know because I've done it. I know what it feels like to be on both sides of the therapy space. I believe in healing and restoration. Most of us have developed coping skills that helped us survive something in our childhoods. We bring those same skills into adulthood but they don't work anymore. Everyone needs someone to bounce things off of, to process life, and get perspective. Being in the Orlando area, I'm a big Disney fan. You'll find me there, hanging out with my friends or family, or in my garden. So many things to learn from your garden...
