About My Clients
You're stuck. You want change. You need change. You’re not sure how to make that happen. I’d like to help you discern how to do this. I would be happy to help you explore your needs and share what I know about opportunities the mental health field has to offer you so that you can feel some movement. Some of the areas I work with include but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, stress, decluttering, organization, parenting, isolation, burnout, and autism.
My Background and Approach
People that work with me find the therapeutic relationship to be comfortable, friendly, and often motivational. My work is eclectic, drawing from many theories and modalities such as Neuropsychologically Informed, Strength based, and Internal Family Systems. I use a trauma-informed perspective and provide continual psychoeducation with all of my clients. We will work together to find the methods you feel fit best to help move you towards your goals to increase your life satisfaction and wellbeing. I also have structured programs curtailed to specific needs such as DBT, Conflict Resolution, Forgiveness Therapy, and Food and Body Connections. I have 13 years experience working with severe and persistent mental illness of all ages which has given me a unique insight into the value of playful nature, gentle methods, acceptance, and encouragement during the growth process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We all have our own path, as individual as the bodies we are born into. Each of those paths comes with its own twists, turns, and obstacles that every person faces in their own way. We are psychologically complex beings! This has brought me to the firm stance that every person, no matter the detail, deserves caring and compassionate validation. I want to begin here by emphasizing the respect I hold for you and all of the strength and work you have put into life so far. I believe that working together as two informed parts of a team to form a reciprocal alliance is often highly beneficial in stimulating growth and goal achievement. With this belief I encourage active participation in service planning and therapeutic choices through active discussion of needs, perceptions and available ways to utilize treatment methods.
