About My Clients
Psychotherapy can be uncomfortable as well as alleviating; but it can also be exciting, surprising, and often very funny. I look to hold space for these and all possible experiences that you might have in our work together. I am open to discuss general inquires and offer a free consultation. Feel free to call or email me to arrange a meeting.
My Background and Approach
Mental health symptoms can exert a painfully strong hold on our lives and take an exhaustive toll. Symptoms can range from anxiety or depression, to a sense of being stuck, to reactions stemming from current circumstances or one’s life history. My practice is guided by the principal that you and I working collaboratively, engaged in a project of speaking and listening—being curious about one’s inner world—can have a significant impact on one’s symptoms. While this practice focuses on reducing suffering it also seeks to produce change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Working in various New York City mental health, medical, educational and non-profit settings has given me a diverse practice experience. Much of this work has been with individuals subject to complex histories, issues and symptoms. My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic lens while also attending to social and political forces and context.
