About Our Clients
DC Talk Therapy has 10 therapists who specialize in helping young adults (20s and 30s) navigate what is often a turbulent period of time. Clients come to us for a variety of reasons: They may be struggling with anxiety, OCD, or depression; unsure about their current relationship; having difficulty successfully separating from their parents; or they have questions about work or their career. All of our therapists are LGBTQ+ friendly and we're deeply committed to improving our clients' lives.
Our Background
We have a combined 150 years of experience helping clients. Most of ur therapists have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that has been proven to be effective with clients with anxiety and depression. Other therapists in our practice are certified in OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder); and a few are trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), mindfulness and DBT (dialectical and behavioral therapy).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of psychotherapy. With the right therapist, psychotherapy is not just helpful but potentially life-changing. We all want to be heard and understood at a deep level, and then to be challenged to make meaningful changes in our lives. We have a team of 10 caring and compassionate therapists and counselors that do just that for our clients. We believe deeply in treating everyone with kindness, respect and dignity. We are an inclusive practice that values diversity in all forms.
