About My Clients
Therapy for late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults, from an autistic therapist who gets it. Specializing in autism, ADHD, PDA, complex trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationships, complicated families, and living with a hypersensitive nervous system. I have deep training, as well as lived experience, with trauma, neurodiversity, family/relationship struggles, and issues such as depression, anxiety, and grief. I bring a compassionate, strengths-based, whole-person approac to my work.
My Background and Approach
I'm licensed or have telehealth registrations in 6 states (OR, CA, ID, FL, VT, & MI). In addition to being an LCSW and supervisor, I'm a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, Certified Complex Trauma Professional, and Certified Family Trauma Professional. I'm also a certified Brainspotting practitioner. I'm deeply committed to ND-affirming, anti-oppressive, trauma-aware, identity-embracing practice. In addition to Brainspotting and ND-affirming therapy, I use a combination of somatic, sensory, stress management, integrative health, decolonizing, & case management approaches. Although I do not diagnose autism or ADHD, working with ND people as well as complex trauma is the core of my work. I'm autistic, & suspect I also have undiagnosed ADHD. Our path together will be deeply personalized, based on your unique goals, situation, values, and challenges. I focus on the environment and relationships around you, not individual "pathology."
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Like many autistic people, I'm deeply committed to social justice at a visceral level. I've worked with clients from an incredible array of intersectional identities, from many parts of the world. About 70% of my clients are neurodivergent. I work with LGBTQIA+ people regularly, as well as BIPOC folks, immigrants, people with complex medical conditions, & every walk of life. Although currently my focus is on adults (roughly 15+), I've worked with clients from 4-84. Personally, I'm spiritual, not religious. I've worked with people from just about every spiritual belief there is: Mormons, Catholics, Evangelicals, Hindus, Muslims, New Age, atheist, etc. I identify as cis-male, hetero, & white (primarily Scottish and Dutch). I'm also a social worker who has spent decades doing anti-racist, anti-oppressive, DEI-based work. Your identities, whatever they are, are welcome. Although I'm not a sex therapist, your sexual preferences and gender identities are also welcome.
