I most often work with adults navigating: Anxiety & stress Relationship & attachment issues Trauma & PTSD ADHD & executive function challenges LGBTQIA+ affirming care
My Background and Approach
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I want you to have a place where you can talk honestly about what you’ve been carrying — without pressure, judgment, or the need to have it all figured out. I bring solid clinical training, ongoing education, and my own lived experience to the work we do together. What drew me to this work — and what keeps me here — is seeing what becomes possible when people finally have a safe, steady place to make sense of what’s been happening inside. I understand what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself, from others, or from the life you hoped you’d be living. In therapy, we slow things down, understand what’s underneath the struggle, and support you in becoming more grounded, fulfilled, and connected — both with yourself and in your relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy works best when you feel understood, safe, and supported. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection — with yourself and with others. I draw from several well-established, depth-oriented, and evidence-based models that focus on attachment, emotional experience, trauma, and self-understanding. I’m David Rothman, LPC, and I provide online therapy for adults and couples throughout Colorado. I’ve received specialized training in the approaches below and remain committed to ongoing professional development so that my work stays thoughtful, responsive, and clinically grounded. What Therapy Feels Like With Me Most people experience therapy with me as: steady and collaborative — we look at what’s happening together emotion-focused but not overwhelming — we go at a pace that feels manageable honest and grounded — no pressure to be anyone but yourself practical and reflective — insight that connects to real life.
