About My Clients
After years working in a diverse array of mental health clinics, I created an independent psychotherapy practice in 2009, specializing in marriage and couples counseling. I also treat individuals for a wide array of life challenges, using various kinds of evidence-based talk therapy and hypnotherapy. I have no long-term clients, usually needing just a handful of sessions to help people in a holistic and enduring way.
My Background and Approach
Originally trained as a psychologist (Ph.D. from Cornell University, 1979; internship in Family and Behavioral Medicine at Worcester State Hospital), I have specialized in numerous areas of individual and family psychology and human development. Some 25 years later, I earned a specialized graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova University, the only nationally accredited program in all of Florida. I earned a License to practice Marriage & Family Therapy independently in Florida. I was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and earned my psychology Bachelor's degree Magna Cum Laude from Clark University, the nation’s first graduate school, and the first to award a doctor’s degree in psychology.
