About My Clients
My clients come to therapy seeking support & guidance in navigating the ups & downs of life. With unconditional positive regard & radical acceptance woven throughout this process, they are able to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, others, & the world in a way that fosters an acceptance of all parts of themselves. They seek a space free of judgement to explore themes including trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief & loss, sexual & gender identity exploration, etc.
My Background and Approach
With empathy and unconditional positive regard, I will support you in working through and leaning into uncomfortable feelings like—anxiety, sadness, fear, doubt, and shame—to make space for more acceptance, presence, trust, and self-compassion. I focus on exploring the body as a guide to identify, process, integrate, and transform traumas by observing and integrating the parts of yourself that deserve healing. Our body’s sensations to triggers reveal our physiological responses to stored traumas. I believe these responses are teachers and show us where we need to go. By following our body’s sensations, we can learn to befriend, trust, and inhabit our body safely. Providing a safe, affirming, and non-hierarchical environment is fundamental in my approach. My practice supports individuals in reclaiming their power through challenging imposed belief systems and being mindful of how trauma is influenced by social, political, and institutional forces.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of providing a safe, affirming, and non-hierarchical therapeutic environment in supporting individuals explore and reclaim their identities /whole selves. I believe the process of untangling and challenging imposed belief systems relating to racism, homophobia, and xenophobia, among others, can be a gateway to the acceptance of all parts of ourselves and others. As a queer Latinx individual, I have known the experience of navigating the uncomfortable feelings that can exist in choosing to live in my truth while also navigating what it means to be queer in a heteronormative and patriarchal society. In sharing these parts of myself, I seek to support you in feeling that this therapeutic relationship will be non-hierarchical and that healing is a non-linear and never ending process.
