Supporting teens, adults, and couples — including expatriates — through life transitions with cultural humility, respect, and warmth

Licensed Professional Counselor in Washington, DC

About My Clients

My teen and adult clients are navigating meaningful transitions—starting school, changing careers, building families, or moving abroad. They often face anxiety, mood shifts, ADHD, identity, or relationship challenges. Through collaborative, strengths-based work—where clients feel deeply heard and their identities and backgrounds are honored—they build coping skills, resilience, and confidence to overcome current obstacles as well as those in the future.

My Background and Approach

I began my career as a mental health therapist in Northern Virginia, supporting adolescents and adults. This foundation shaped nearly two decades abroad as a school counselor, where I helped diverse students with emotional concerns and college planning. Now in private practice, I serve teens, adults, and families—including expatriates—with a global, developmentally informed perspective. As a licensed therapist and certified coach, I offer tailored support to help clients achieve personal and professional goals. I integrate cognitive-behavioral interventions, mindfulness, solution-focused methods, and trauma-informed care. Committed to social justice and cultural humility, I work collaboratively with clients, creating a safe, supportive space for growth that respects each person’s identity and its complex intersections. Whether addressing anxiety, mood, life transitions, or college readiness, I provide practical, affirming, culturally responsive counseling and coaching.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I hold two core beliefs that guide me as a therapist, coach, and person: that people can grow and change through intention and effort, and that being true to ourselves and others is essential. These beliefs inspire my compassionate, collaborative approach, empowering clients to explore their strengths and live authentically. Outside counseling and coaching, my life is driven by lifelong learning, mindfulness, minimalism, and social justice. Having lived abroad for nearly two decades, I cherish cross-cultural experiences and deepen my understanding of diverse perspectives. I am proficient in Spanish and continually improving my skills. I also enjoy travel, culture and the arts, scuba diving, gym workouts, and pickleball. I actively participate in social justice causes, including gay pride parades, women’s marches, No Kings protests, and Black Lives Matter events. I bring this same passion and curiosity into my work with clients.
