My Background and Approach
Welcome! My name is David Elliott and I have worked in a variety of settings dealing with intergenerational and acute/complex trauma. My experience spans from early intervention to community mental health clinics, providing counseling services to all individuals. I have found that across all settings and people, the most important aspect of therapy is developing a relationship in which the client feels safe, respected, and held accountable. I am passionate about mental health and can recognize the impact emotions, and daily trauma can have mentally. My mission to help you enhance your quality of life. Some areas of my expertise include Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Grief, Personality Disorders, Relationship issues, Men Issues, Trauma, Depression, and Family conflict. My Treatment approach includes Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person-Centered, and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). Taking a multicultural and Culturally Sensitive approach is therapy is progress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I offer psychotherapy with an integrative approach utilizing different theoretical frameworks to individualize sessions/treatment plans. While working collaboratively a treatment plan will be tailored to one's own unique specific need. Together the goal is to create an environment where one feels safe, heard, and free to explore all of one's challenges. Together we will explore what brought you to therapy and decide the most effective ways to help make progress. By learning new strategies and gaining a deeper understanding of the origins of these challenges, the goal is to leave sessions motivated, inspired and with a deeper understanding of coping skills/ emotional regulation.
