I am a licensed addiction counselor, nationally certified and a Qualified Clinical Supervisor. I am also in long term personal recovery and have been working in this profession for nearly 3 decades and passionate about the work we do. According to (and I believe) the American Society of Addiction Medicine: Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences. Prevention efforts and treatment approaches for addiction are generally as successful as those for other chronic diseases. We believe long term treatment, coupled with trauma therapy, a strong family program and multiple therapy modalities are the best in treating SUD. Smaller facilities like ours can give patients and their families the attention needed during and after treatment.

People do recover! Families do recover! If you put as much into your recovery as you did your use of alcohol and other drugs you too will likely recover from this disease. The more you put in it the more you'll get out of it. I have seen some of the most hopeless cases recover and move on with wonderful and productive lives that were beyond their wildest dreams. I am always available to talk to anyone that is in need of help. If I cannot help I can help navigate you to an appropriate and ethical level of care you may need. I am currently a Board Member of the TN Mental Health Association, past RVP for the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Counselors, active over the years with the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, Treatment Advocate in Washington,DC, a past member of NALGAP and past State President of TAADAC.
