About My Clients
Life is messy. Relationships are hard. Pandemics are lonely. And parenting...? Don’t even get me started! If you're feeling like societal expectations are consistently setting you up for failure, I get it... and I assure you that you are not alone. If you've gotten this far in my profile, I imagine it's because you have a different story you'd rather be telling yourself right now — one where you are thriving and not merely surviving. If this resonates, give me a call.
My Background and Approach
As a gay dad and former advertising executive of 20+ years, I bring a unique perspective to my diverse client base. I employ creativity, humor, out-of-the-box thinking and psychological skills-building to foster resilience and affirm lasting, positive change. In our work together, we’ll reawaken your self-awareness by building upon the strengths and passions you may have long forgotten you had. I believe you are the expert of your own hopes and hardships; I will work to help facilitate change, comfort and radical self-acceptance. We'll collaborate on ways to manage daily stressors and anxieties and get you living an authentic and fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice through an LGBTQ+ affirmative lens that highlights clients’ existing strengths, honors their cultural influences, celebrates the things that make them special, while also recognizing and addressing the negative influences that homophobia, transphobia and heterosexism have on the lives of LGBTQ+ people. While I specialize in working with gay parents, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and those in creative professions, I welcome anyone who wants to work on having a deeper self-awareness, more meaningful relationships and a desire to create positive and lasting changes. My goal is to empower clients to find value in their unique identities, to foster resilience, to expand their awareness and to build the confidence they may need to confront past trauma, build strong interpersonal relationships or more effectively regulate their emotions. I also volunteer as a supervisor at Teen Line crisis hotline and I'm a contributing writer for the GaysWithKids.com website.
