About My Clients
I work with clients who have many different presenting concerns, from relational stressors, to more significant difficulties that need to be addressed in order to achieve a greater quality of life. Clients I serve typically present with a broad range of mental health concerns including mood struggles, depression, anxiety, employment or family stress, personality challenges, relationship issues, and many forms of trauma in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota for the past 13 years. I have specializations in the areas of heterosexual relationships, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, adult mental health, and Christian-based therapy. My background has included in-home therapy, group therapy, adult day treatment, supervisor, clinic director, couple's therapist, and private practice. My approach to working with clients is to meet them where they are at and provide a warm and safe environment for them to heal as much as they desire. I use a down-to-earth and grounded approach along with positive relational rapport. Clients benefit from not only being in therapeutic relationship with me, yet, also by strategic interventions designed to facilitate healing in a way that will best suite the client's needs and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A big part of who I am is my Christian faith. This belief drives me to do my best for the people I meet and help them as much as they desire me to. I respect and value people of all faiths and desire to learn from those I meet with. I have a background in seminary training, church leadership, teaching in church and cooperate settings. My passions lie with focus on heterosexual marital health and family health as I see these as the backbones of a healthy community. I also see a great need for people to connect with someone they can trust and be transparent with regarding what is on their mind, whether or not this person believes the exact same things they do or not, it doesn't necessarily matter. I appreciate music, nature, family time, and a healthy balance of personal hobbies.
