About My Clients
I work with children, teens, and adults. Maybe you are navigating tough transitions or just feeling stuck. Some kids may be struggling with anxiety or emotional regulation, while teens may need a safe space to talk and make sense of life. Adults often come to explore relationship dynamics, family patterns, or heal from past trauma. Wherever you are in your journey and whatever you bring, you are so welcome here!
My Background and Approach
Have you ever felt like it wasn't okay to feel what you were feeling? Like everything should be fine or you should just be able to snap out of it? Contrary to what we think, healing begins when we are seen and known and accepted just as we are. Yes, we hope for more, but it's okay to not be okay! In the context of a safe space, therapy can help us get to know our feelings, process our experiences, and work with different ways of relating with life, ourselves, and others. With children, I use play therapy which allows children to express their emotional worlds in their natural language at a pace that is right for them. With teens and adults, I use a mix of approaches tailored to your unique needs. One of these is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps you get to know the different parts of yourself — especially the ones that carry fear or try to protect you . I also pay close attention to what your body might be saying, especially when words are hard to find.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
First of all, I value connection and human relationships as essential for life! I am genuinely curious about what makes people tick, what they are motivated by, or what they are interested in. I love the uniqueness of every single person and seeing how their personality and life experiences combine to make them the people they are. Inside and outside of my work, I bring my love of laughter (life can't always be serious). I am passionate about issues pertaining to immigration, refugees, adoption, and attachment. I care about theology and the way it can affect the way we see ourselves and others. I have personal experience with spiritual trauma, and I understand the nuances of connection and loyalty within communities. I love all things outdoors: hiking, camping, trees, sitting by the water, or trying something new. I value creativity as an outlet and grounding practice.
