Many of my clients come from multigenerational homes with immigrant parents or parents who have an "old school" mentality that has created divisions in their relationships. Many of these parent's values and views are "outdated" compared to their adult children who have a healthier understanding of self, others, and want to heal/break generational norms that no longer serve them.

Our trans, non-binary, and gender diverse community has long been under attack, but now more than ever. I have been committed to bringing quality, trauma-informed gender affirming care to clients since 2015. I have provided countless letters of support to begin HRT, as well as for gender affirming surgery. I help clients through every stage of their transition and beyond.

Anxiety cuts across all ages, genders, class, race, sexual orientation, you name it. It is a human response to the magnitude of stressors we face each day. It takes on many forms and I am here to help you identify how anxiety is showing up in your life, how to challenge the unhealthy ways it is reading havoc , and how to work towards shifting the narrative that that voice offers. We all hold a certain set of beliefs, values, and norms that determine what we value, the way we live, and the choices we make, etc. Often these come from your family, society, or cultural background that have been passed on from generation to generation. As we move through life, we get exposed to other world views and beliefs, which can lead to shifting or adapting these values. ACT helps us to examine these values more clearly, to help you live in more alignment with the you of today!

We all have constant thoughts and narratives that run through our head all day. Sometimes these stories or interpretations are helpful, but often times they are based on fear, anxiety, or other traumatic experiences in our life. While they may be well meaning (i.e., protect us from shame/embarassment/mistakes), they tend to cause us far more distress than necessary. CBT helps us to step back and examine those thoughts and transform them into more helpful ones.

We are all born into circumstances that shape who we are, how we relate to others, and how we view the world. Understanding your history and backstory is an integral part of understanding who you are today and why you do the things you do. I believe, it is key to understand these elements of your story in order to work towards healing the parts that hurt you.
