About My Clients
My clients' are people who may be at a point in their lives where they just need someone to talk to. Maybe this is their first time in therapy, and they have no idea what they want or even need to work on. That's okay! They're open to the journey of healing and trusting me to walk with them along that path, and for that level of trust, I'm so so thankful!
My Background and Approach
My approach is first and foremost person centered. I welcome you for who you are and where you are starting. My clients' will never receive any judgment from me, and I work hard to make sure everyone knows my office is forever and always a safe space. After and along with this, I prioritize building rapport with my clients! This means I like to get to know you, your likes, your dislikes, the things that make you tick, and the things that make your heart swell. For instance, if my client hates writing, my proposed homework and interventions will not involve writing. I work your likes into our sessions as a way to maintain that rapport and ensure you always know that you're heard/seen with me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an Afro-Latino cisgender woman, I have both personal and professional experience dealing with the intersectionality of issues that BIPOC individuals encounter on an everyday basis. I both offer and require respect in my therapy room as well as disallow judgment/bashing of minority groups. I'm far more liberal than I am conservative but respect all political views, regardless of my personal beliefs. My Christian faith is extremely important to me in my personal life, but it will never carry over into sessions with clients' unless a faith based approach is requested.
