About My Clients
I work with children, teens, adults, and families who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected; often carrying experiences of trauma, anxiety, grief, or relational pain. Many of my clients are thoughtful sensitive people, who have learned to push through, shut down, or act out in order to cope. Together we slow things down, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, and support emotional expression regulation and reconnection to self and others.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing trauma-informed, relational therapy to children, teens, adults, and families. My work is grounded in a client-centered approach that emphasizes collaboration, safety, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, drawing from CBT, experiential, and depth-oriented approaches. When working with children and caregivers, I incorporate Parent-Child Psychotherapy to support emotional attunement and relational healing. I view symptoms not as problems to eliminate, but as meaningful signals shaped by past experiences, cultural context, and relational dynamics. Therapy with me is compassionate, intentional, and paced with care. Using ACT, we focus on building psychological flexibility, clarifying values, and developing practical tools for navigating life’s challenges with greater clarity and choice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing happens in relationship; with ourselves, with others, and within the cultural and social contexts we live in. I value equity, inclusivity, and culturally responsive care, and I strive to honor each client’s identities, strengths, and lived experiences. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ identities, diverse family structures, and non-traditional relationship dynamics, and I approach therapy through a social-justice-informed and trauma-responsive lens. I have a strong focus on cultural identity and acculturation experiences, and I often work with individuals and families navigating bicultural identities, intergenerational dynamics, and the impact of migration or systemic stressors. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and provide therapy in either language. I believe therapy can be a space for reflection, compassion, and meaningful growth.
