About My Clients
My practice helps people handle anxiety, panic attacks, anger, grief, and trauma by providing cognitive behavioral strategies, anger management, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care to help clients overcome their struggles.
My Background and Approach
I have a Ph.D. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, an M.A. from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and a B.A. degree from the University of Puerto Rico. I have lived in Texas since 2014. I worked as a school counselor for 24 years. I am becoming a therapist now to continue helping people. I am bilingual (Spanish/English). I have training in a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and grief counseling, among others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person can grow emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Counseling is just a method for the client to build those bridges that will get him or her to where they want to be. The therapeutic process sometimes can be hard but also offers the opportunity for healing if the clients in their reflective process are brave enough to make good choices. Clients can overcome their mental set and start to grow even during their most difficult times.
