About My Clients
I have 10 years of experience as a social worker assisting those with chronic mental health struggles and 3 years providing therapy to adults experiencing challenging life stressors, loss, medical illness and other mental health diagnoses. No matter what life stage you are in, therapy can help you cope and learn to thrive.
My Background and Approach
Life can be tough and there is so much that isn't under our control. Getting overwhelmed with emotions or self-critical thoughts only add unnecessary suffering and therapy can help. I utilize a collaborative person-centered perspective that recognizes your expertise in your life. My practice is based upon use of mindfulness, narrative, cognitive and behavioral techniques to improve function in daily life. All of the work that I do is rooted in empathy and I am passionate about assisting clients through work, home and family stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, disability, grief and other major life transitions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe passionately in the dignity and worth of each person. As a social worker, every problem must be considered in context of the person: their lived experience, traumas, intersectional identities and the cultural and economic environment in which they reside. There are no bad people, thoughts or behaviors... just ones that no longer serve your goals. As a grounded and positive therapist, I will be there with you as we safely explore your experiences, patterns and fears for how they might be limiting your life in the here and now. This work will identify your strengths, connect with your core values and help you use your power to get closer to who you want to be, no matter what life throws at you.
