About My Clients
I accept clients ranging from ages 3 to adults. I have experience working with children and adults with symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, and behavior problems. I also have experience working with children and teens in foster care and juvenile services.
My Background and Approach
I offer play-based interventions, including animal assisted therapy, but I also incorporate CBT, art, and other methods as appropriate. I love working on my farm because we can sit outside on a beautiful day, or take a walk in the horse field. I am gentle, direct, and playful when talking to clients. I like to teach others how to practice good mental health, and I love incorporating practice into sessions. I am not super analytical in my therapeutic approach. I have worked with a mixture of children, teens, and adults for my career, and I try to be casual and relatable as a result.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself neurodiversity affirming, and generally believe that therapy should help people tease out their strengths and build on them- as well as to help relieve any symptoms that are uncomfortable for them (or if the consequences are uncomfortable). I love working alongside animals and in nature. I believe that equine-assisted and animal-assisted activities are invaluable in working through challenges.
