About My Clients
I specialize in delivering evidence-based treatments, including DBT, ERP, and Prolonged Exposure (PE), through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. Most of my clients have undergone therapy before and are looking for something more results-oriented. They may be dealing with debilitating issues such as BPD, OCD, or PTSD, or they may just prefer a structured approach. Many seek me out because they suspect they're autistic and/or have been misdiagnosed and would like some clarity and validation.
My Background and Approach
We’ll start our work by learning what matters deeply to you, to help you formulate goals based on the life you want to live. I’ll help you fully assess any behaviors you want to change, so that we understand how best to intervene. All of this is done within a context of compassion, understanding, and humor. I’m passionate about providing a thorough assessment for my clients. I’ve seen how validating it can be when a diagnosis sheds light on a lifetime of challenges, and I know that the right diagnosis paves the way to getting the most effective type of treatment for your concerns. If you decide to work with me, you’ll find that I bring my genuine self to the therapy room. I aim to strike a balance between encouraging change and accepting you as you are, since lasting change can occur in the context of a supportive relationship. And I’ll help you cultivate that same sense of support and acceptance within yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in making the world a more peaceful place, one person at a time. If each of us can cultivate a deep sense of self-acceptance, we won’t commit violence against ourselves and others. This includes violence in the form of judging. By working with you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your behaviors, conveying my acceptance of you as you are, and my heartfelt wish that you decrease your suffering by changing destructive behaviors, I hope to set you on the path to self-acceptance and help you let go of internalized stigma and invalidation.
