About My Clients
As people, we are shaped by our experiences and relationships, whether positive or negative. As a mental health clinician, I will work towards supporting you in repairing the distress caused by any life events by encouraging you to process and reprocess activating events, role play communication skills, learn relationship building skills, set boundaries, and improve self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
My clinical experience varies from working with children and families to teens and adults struggling with acute mental health and addiction. I find the most success working with older teens and adults who are faced with difficult or new life transitions, low self esteem, childhood trauma, as well as relationship, communication, and boundary setting struggles. My mindful, collaborative approach to psychotherapy allows for space to learn and grow while challenging the negative narratives we have been fed about ourselves and the world. I will help you explore where your negative beliefs and narratives are coming from by using your present day struggles, such as anxiety, depression, anger, poor boundaries, and low self-esteem to connect with your wounded parts from the past as well as reprocess traumatic events. I work from an attuned trauma informed, relationship focused, strength-based approach integrating EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, mindfulness, client collaboration, and skill building.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a member of the QTPOC and MENA communities, I am able to draw from my experiences of settling into my identity as well as those I have worked with to help support people at any stage of their journey. I love learning about new ways to support my client. In doing so, I look for trainings that focus on BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ clients. I recently started training in BIPOC focused Brainspotting.
