I use EMDR, IFS, and Brainspotting as ways of identifying & reprocessing traumatic events in a person's life. These approaches support a client in working through current and past traumas and triggers by using the brain, body, and wise Self. I am able to support clients with small t traumas (e.g. messages we received as children) and big T traumas (e.g. death, car accidents, abuse). I find the most success working with adults whose lives are currently impacted by these activating events.

I have worked with many people within the LGBTQIA+ community on various struggles including, but not limited to, their gender and/or sexual identity. As both a member of the community and an ally, I find it important to continue to work with and support people as they figure out who they are through individual psychotherapy sessions as well as continued training on issues pertaining to the LGBTQIA+ communities.

Moving through life can be a challenge, especially when there are new or unexpected changes. I have worked with children moving into adolescence, teens moving into adulthood, adults moving into retirement, and families separating. My approach to life transitions is to find what the struggles are and create a plan to make the change more manageable by exploring where their negative thoughts or beliefs are coming from and help them repair the distress to make for a smoother transition.

I am trained and working towards certification in Brainspotting, which uses eye positions to identify spots in the brain (brainspots) where traumatic memories are stored. Brainspotting utilizes focused mindfulness as well as the body and mind’s innate ability to heal as a way of helping a person process through identified traumatic events.

I am fully trained and working towards certification in Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), which focuses on identifying traumatic events from our past, especially early relational wounds, in order to reprocess and repair the impact it has had on our relationships to ourselves and others.

I am trained in Internal Family Systems which supports a client in identifying and accepting their protective wounded parts that form in response to traumatic or activating events.
