About My Clients
I specialize in providing psychotherapy in a safer and affirming space for individuals from historically marginalized groups. Many of my clients identify as part of the queer/trans/nonbinary community and/or as Black, Indigenous, or people of color. I have extensive experience and thoroughly enjoy working with graduate students and academics. I also support people navigating queer/trans fertility, pregnancy, and the postpartum period, especially non-gestational parents.
My Background and Approach
My work is most influenced by attachment theory, contemporary psychoanalytic theory, and anti-oppression frameworks. I am sex-positive, kink-allied, and well-versed in ethical non-monogamy. I practice from an anti-oppression, body-neutral, intersectional feminist lens. I have speciality training in perinatal mental health and lived experience as a queer non-gestational parent.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Most of the parents I work with identify as part of the queer/trans, BIPOC, and/or ENM/polyamorous communities. Historically, these communities have been ignored or harmed by the traditional birthing world. I offer warm, attuned care and can provide referrals to affirmative birth professionals. Some folks work with me short-term during their fertility journey, pregnancy, or postpartum period, and other folks end up working with me long-term. We may talk through infertility struggles, preparing emotionally for the birth experience, process common postpartum concerns, or work on postpartum depression/anxiety.
