About My Clients
Many of the clients I work with are living with grief & loss, anxiety, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, and exhaustion that never fully lets up. Even with insight or tools, it can feel like the same patterns keep repeating. You might wonder why it’s so hard to simply “feel better,” which can lead to frustration or self-criticism. I work with you to explore these patterns, reduce shame, and build self-understanding, self-compassion, and a deeper connection with yourself and your life.
My Background and Approach
For many people, relationships haven’t always felt safe, yet healing most often happens in connection. That can leave those of us longing for care and support in a bit of a difficult place. Because of this, I prioritize creating a space that feels warm, welcoming, and genuine, where we can approach the patterns you want to change with curiosity and compassion. Supporting this work are Merry and Pippin, my trained therapy dogs. For many, having a furry co-therapist in the room can make it a little easier to settle in, open up, and build a strong therapeutic relationship. Over time, clients often begin to see themselves the way Merry and Pippin do, as inherently worthy of love, care, and support. I utilize play therapy (for ages 3-12), ACT, parts work, and coherence therapy to help us understand how your patterns make sense given your history, while also creating space to learn and practice new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Outside of my work as a therapist, I am also an adjunct instructor at my alma mater, Concordia University Texas, where I teach courses in child development, family systems, and play. I love supporting students as they begin their own journeys toward fulfilling careers helping others. While my passion for learning often has me immersed in a book, training, or podcast, I also firmly believe in the healing power of time outside, a good meal with loved ones, and the occasional binge-worthy TV show.
