Daniella Lang (She/Her)

I have particular passion for assisting individuals who have experienced trauma. I have worked at a center serving victims of domestic violence and had the opportunity to assist students at Parkland schools in the aftermath of the shooting that deeply impacted their community. I have also led staff and community programs about domestic violence and childhood trauma.

Given the current complications due to covid-19, I find it particularly relevant and meaningful to assist people who are struggling with anxiety. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to assist individuals to navigate their difficult thoughts, implement coping strategies, and be the best version of themselves. Additionally, I am working towards becoming specialized in working with individuals who have OCD.

I have vast experience working with adolescents in different settings including: individual therapy within community mental health centers, centers for victims of domestic violence, and a hospital's intensive outpatient program. I currently work part time at Nova Southeastern University's University School where I provide individual counseling, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and consultation to this population and their family and communities.

Given the current complications due to covid-19, I find it incredibly useful to implement a cognitive behavioral approach to assist individuals with navigating their anxiety, difficult thoughts, and implement coping strategies so that they can live as their best selves. I am also in the process of becoming trained to implement a cbt based model to assist individuals with OCD.

Being fluent in Spanish and the daughter of Argentine immigrants has instilled in me a passion for working with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse clients. I am committed to cultural sensitivity within my clinical work and interpersonal relationships. I find it imperative to be empathic and genuine, and I understand that each individual has unique needs, backgrounds, and lives within different systems and cultures.

I utilize a client-centered, yet integrative approach while implementing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment interventions, play therapy, narrative therapy, family systems, solution-focused interventions, and existential therapy.
