About My Clients

I have a special interest in working with children, adolescents and their communities; but my experience also includes working with adults. I have worked in school, hospital, and community based settings where I have served individuals, groups and families who have experienced anxiety, trauma, depression, adjustment issues, interpersonal deficits, grief, and struggles with acculturation.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed psychologist (Psy.D.) in Florida and Illinois. I received my doctoral degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. I then completed my APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at Miami Dade County, Community Action & Human Services Department, and my postdoctoral residency at Nova Southeastern University. I currently hold a position at Nova Southeastern University’s University school where I work with elementary, middle, and high school age students, provide risk assessment, crisis intervention, supervision to school psychology students, and consultation to family and staff members. I utilize a client-centered, yet integrative approach while implementing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment interventions, play therapy, narrative therapy, family systems, solution-focused interventions, and existential therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being fluent in Spanish and the daughter of Argentine immigrants has instilled in me a passion for working with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse clients. I am committed to cultural sensitivity within my clinical work and interpersonal relationships. I find it imperative to be empathic and genuine, and I understand that each individual has unique needs, backgrounds, and lives within different systems and cultures. Additionally, I have experience conducting psychological assessments and providing feedback sessions to a wide range of individuals and their families in both English and Spanish.
