About My Clients

If you've been feeling... ...that you need to walk on eggshells around your partner... that there are things you just can't talk about..a growing distance and disconnection between you... the stress of ongoing tension and fights... or that you don't feel important to your partner, you are not alone. Relationship therapy helps you see options and possibilities that were not apparent at the start. It helps to get you past painful patterns that haven't changed, despite your best efforts.

My Background and Approach

It can be a real struggle to try to make your relationship better on your own. I’m Daniel Snow, and I focus on Relationship Therapy to help people have better ways to understand and enjoy each other. To take collective wisdom, research, and best practices in helping relationships and share them in the most needed way for each person and couple. This approach incorporates multiple couples' and relationship therapy models, which allows for the most relevant and powerful elements to be used in a way that serves you specifically. We hone in on what is most important to each of you in order to feel that therapy has been successful. And we focus on what's needed for both of you to feel connected, understood, and valued. Individual relationship therapy gives you focused ways to influence and change painful or stressful situations. It helps you to take control, instead of continuing to live with the same patterns that may not have changed, despite your best efforts.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that effective therapy helps people see options for change. These changes include painful and stressful patterns we want to stop and those positive things we want, need, and deserve in our lives. It should be based on a realistic sense of hope when seeing things start to get better. I also believe in research and evidence. It is my responsibility to use approaches for which there is strong evidence of effectiveness. What I don't buy into is a 'top-down approach. I'm not here to tell people what to do, but rather for you to incorporate things in your own way, to take or leave what you see helpful. It's about respecting not just your emotions but also your intelligence and values. While what we deal with in therapy is essential, it doesn't always have to be dead- serious. We can also laugh and smile at things, which offers perspective and helps us to feel lighter. And last but not least, I really believe in access to quality care. Therapy is for everyone.
