About My Clients

Have you been longing for a more fulfilling, meaningful life? If you are feeling paralyzed or trapped by worry or sadness, you may benefit from an in-depth psychotherapy approach that allows you to break old patterns and grow into a deeper understanding of yourself. I offer online (video-based) therapy to treat trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, and depression. I invite you to contact me or visit my website to learn more about how you can find healing & meaning in your life.

My Background and Approach

I use CBT and Mindfulness based techniques in my work, but the foundation of my therapeutic approach is from an Existential Therapy perspective, which allows us to slow down and look closely at your current experience so that together we can shape the future you want to have. As a therapist, I strive to not only help you solve your current problems, but to help you become a solver of problems for yourself throughout your life by developing a deeper relationship to yourself and your world. I have lived in several countries and speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Both as a therapist and professor, I have served individuals of many cultures as well as marginalized populations which informs my practice & worldview.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have dedicated my career helping people deal with struggles and learn that relationships can be healed, trauma and loss can be transformed, and what is confusing can be understood. I believe that you can find inner peace and fulfillment by learning to listen deeply to yourself. My focus is on the unique perspective you have in your life and on your struggles and the suffering you may be experiencing. I believe that all of your experiences, whether they are positive or negative, tell us something important about you and your life. Coming from an existential and humanistic perspective, I find it important and helpful to slow down, go inward and take a fresh look at the way in which you are experiencing your life in order to discover perspectives, resources, and tools that may help you to better deal with life's challenges. I invite you to begin the process today, and discover the gifts of self-transformation.
