About My Clients
My clients are adults and couples who are capable and often successful, yet feel stuck. Some are anxious, low, or worn out. Some keep having the same fight with a partner or are recovering from an affair. Others are carrying painful experiences that still shape how they react, or are facing a big change like divorce, loss, or a new chapter. Most want more than a place to vent. They want honest feedback, practical tools, and real change they can feel in their daily lives.
My Background and Approach
LCSW-C (MD), LCSW (VA, NJ). I see clients in person in Bethesda, MD and by telehealth throughout MD, VA, and NJ. I work with adults and couples facing anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, addictive habits, painful past experiences, and major life transitions like divorce, loss, or career change. I look at the whole person, including relationships, family history, and circumstances, not just symptoms. For couples, I’m trained in the Gottman Method, including affair recovery, and in Emotionally Focused Therapy. For individuals, I’m trained in CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I also have Sex Therapy Informed training through ISTI, so concerns about intimacy are welcome here, and I lead group therapy for adults looking for connection and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves therapy that respects who they are. My office is an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients, people of all races, cultures, and faiths, and couples and families of every shape, including those exploring nontraditional relationships. I see people’s struggles in context, shaped by culture, history, and the systems around them, not only by what happens inside their heads. That view comes partly from my love of anthropology and philosophy, which shapes how curious I am about the different ways people make meaning. Outside the office, I’m happiest traveling somewhere with deep history and good hiking, or reading something that challenges how I think. I also value humor. Therapy is serious work, but there’s room to laugh, and a little honesty about life’s absurdities can go a long way.
