About My Clients
I have experience and comfort working with clients ranging from adolescence to retirees with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, relational issues and life transitions. My ideal clients are curious to learn more about themselves, their thoughts, how they operate and organize their lives. I appreciate opportunities to work creatively with clients and believe that collaboration is key to creating the most effective paths forward.
My Background and Approach
My educational background includes a B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and a M.A. in Professional Mental health Counseling with an addiction counseling specialization from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I sharpened my skills with the support of exceptional supervisors while working directly with clients in various community mental health agencies while serving a diverse clientele. My education and training emphasizes a holistic approach to working with clients while being considerate of aspects of social justice, multicultural competency, LGBTQ+ affirming care, harm-reduction, and trauma-informed approaches. As an eclectic counselor I blend a variety of theoretical backgrounds and evidence based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, constructivism, mindfulness and relational approaches among others. I believe your treatment should be unique to you as an individual and work off of your own personal strengths and perspectives.

The human experience is a truly wonderful gift that comes with incredible challenges. Sometimes the ever changing tides and currents of our lives evoke a beckoning from within for help. It is my believe that we can collaboratively build a healing space on values of authenticity, transparency, mutual respect, and empathy to center your strengths and realize a path forward that is both meaningful and aligned with your goals.
