About My Clients
Do you spend so much energy meeting others’ expectations that you’ve lost touch with yourself? My clients are adults, including LGBTQ+ people, navigating anxiety, trauma, strained relationships, and life transitions. Many struggle with boundaries, rejection, or repeating painful relationship patterns. You may be ready to understand yourself, communicate your needs, and feel more secure in who you are. Together, we’ll make room for healing, connection, and a life that feels like yours.
My Background and Approach
I’m Daniel Kelty, an Ohio licensed independent social worker with supervisory designation (LISW-S). I bring 15 years of experience supporting LGBTQ+ adults and marginalized communities, along with a warm, direct, and nonjudgmental approach. My background includes trauma work, mindfulness, communication and boundary setting —experiences that shape my respect for resilience, connection, and the many ways people heal. Therapy with me is a collaborative conversation where you can unpack what’s happening, understand recurring patterns, and explore what you want to change. We may look at how attachment, family expectations, rejection, or past experiences influence your relationships and sense of self. I help clients strengthen communication, practice boundaries, and distinguish authentic needs from habits developed to survive. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and build practical tools at your pace, with room for honesty, humor, and self-discovery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you deserve dignity, belonging, and the freedom to be yourself without having to earn acceptance. As a gay man, husband, and adoptive father, I understand how meaningful it is to build a life and family that reflect who you are. My commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation is both personal and professional. I value bodily autonomy, racial and social justice, and the right to define your own identity, relationships, and beliefs. I welcome people who are questioning inherited expectations, navigating religious hurt, or finding their voice after years of putting others first. Nature and animals are important parts of my life and have shaped my appreciation for connection and care. I believe healing can include humor, creativity, curiosity, and community. My role is to help you explore your own values and choices, with respect for your lived experience and your right to decide what a meaningful life looks like.
