About My Clients
Our emotions are interwoven, complex, and connected to both our present and past experiences. They are also affected by the broader society that surrounds us. My practice is open to anyone who is willing to examine this complexity with curiosity. I hope to be a valuable partner in helping you better understand the complex nature of both yourself and your relationships.
My Background and Approach
My professional journey led me through a formative pre-degree traineeship at APLA Health, which is an organization renowned for its pioneering of HIV-related care since the onset of the AIDS epidemic. I currently work Amend Treatment which is a residential facility for people facing difficult mental health conditions that require residential care. In private practice, I work with families, couples, and individuals on a variety of issues. I utilize a psychodynamic perspective while integrating various other modalities such as DBT and IFS based on client needs. I am currently an IFS-informed therapist and love to enrich the work through this modality. I am trauma-informed and have basic training in EMDR from an EMDRIA-approved training site.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Seeing as though our society greatly affects the way we interact at the individual level, I am proud to say that I come from an LGBT-affirmative, sex-positive, anti-racist perspective both in my personal life and in the therapeutic space.
